Walking in the misty winter morning on Champagne Street
I've passed this old tall house before
Yet something was different

She noticed that man in a long heavy coat
Walking on Champagne Street in the pale morbid light
'He looks somewhat familiar', she thought
Staring at his seemingly weary face

He passed her by on the narrow sidewalk
She smiled to him politely and he smiled back at her
'It looks somewhat familiar', they both silently thought
As they walked away from each other in the thick winter fog
She turned back, as if something had just happened
But she couldn't tell what it was
He stopped, looked around, noticed an old tall house
And thought : 'I think I've been here before'

In the distance, a dark silhouette was walking away in the void
